Family and Community
are the essence of
Jewish Culture and Traditions.
CELEBRATION Saturday,December 8th
Each generation has its role in history.
From all the generations before us, we inherited a wealth of dreams, philosophy, truths, wisdom and purpose. We are tiny midgets standing on the shoulders of their ideas and their noble deeds.
Our generation’s mandate—and destiny—is to make the dream real.
We encompass Colorado, Lavaca, Fayette and Gonzales counties.
It is said that synagogues serve three functions: a house of worship, a house of learning, and a house of assembly. We hope you will make Temple Israel your spiritual home for all three purposes and, if you are able, we want you to become involved so that you truly feel like you are part of our community.
We believe that it is through connecting with each other via celebration of special Holidays, learning, and interacting with one another, that we elevate our daily lives from the mundane to the sacred.
Make Temple Israel part of your Jewish journey!
ABOUT OUR TEMPLE

Because we are a Rural Community Temple, our members travel far to worship and celebrate. We pride ourselves in our Holiday Celebrations and welcome you to come experience our warm, country family oriented Holiday Traditions.
Members of Temple Israel are a varied and interesting group of people. Long time local residents of this rich ranching and farming community to week-enders from Houston and Austin. Urbanites looking for a more peaceful way of life in the country. We have all come together at Temple Israel and have found a common ground.
